Our expertise

Nine areas of expertise, one point of contact.

Most providers deliver a project and leave. We design knowing we will be the ones operating it — and we supply the hardware too, where that helps. It changes the architecture calls we make, and it is what our clients have come to us for since 1989.

01

Transformation and innovation

We work where the technical decision commits the company for a decade: the choice of an architecture, the framing of a major programme, the call between rebuild and remediation. Our consultants come from operations, not from theory.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Framing and steering major programmes
  • IT master plans and information system architecture
  • Architecture studies and solution selection
  • Client-side project management support
  • Audit of existing systems and remediation plans
02

Data, big data and artificial intelligence

A practice built in 2017. We handle data across its whole chain: capturing it, governing it, putting it to work. Artificial intelligence is not a separate activity, it is what you do with data whose quality is under control.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Data governance, quality and cataloguing
  • Data lake architecture and analytics platforms
  • Business intelligence and operational dashboards
  • Machine learning and use cases in production
  • Business process automation
  • Sovereignty and control over where data is hosted

We also distribute the products of Osmove, our software partner in artificial intelligence. See our software partners.

How we run an automation project

What is at stake in an AI project is not the model, it is adoption and keeping your data sealed. Our sequence, from observing the ground to your teams taking over.

  1. 1

    Observe the real process

We start from how the work is actually done, workarounds included, not from the written procedure.

  2. 2

    Decide what can be automated

Eligibility criteria applied with your business teams: volume, stability of the rule, cost of an error, level of human control required.

  3. 3

    Build on your own resources

Your reference data, your access rights, your data platform. We plug the automation into what exists rather than standing up a parallel system.

  4. 4

    Bring the users with you

The teams concerned sign off the use cases before rollout, learn how to take back control, and know who to turn to when the machine gets it wrong.

  5. 5

    Measure and account for it

Manual rework rate, errors caught, time genuinely saved. The system is corrected against those figures.

  6. 6

    Hand over control

Documentation, training and skills transfer so your teams can take the system forward without us.

Your internal data does not leave your trusted perimeter: processing on infrastructure you control, segregation by access right, no reuse to train a third-party model, and logging of everything the automation reads. Traffic goes through an API gateway: the orchestration platform never reaches the internal network directly.

03

Cybersecurity and risk management

A practice created in 2022. Security is a property of the system, not a layer added afterwards. We build it into the architecture, then we monitor it.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Security audit and compliance analysis
  • Identity and access management
  • Security operations centre and monitoring
  • Data protection and encryption key management
  • Cloud and hybrid environment security
  • Third-party and supply chain risk governance

The full approach — the stake, the methodology, the deliverables — is set out in our cyber governance programme.

Twelve areas of work

Audit and compliance

  • Security audit services
  • Compliance analysis
  • Identity management
  • Security operations centre

Engineering and operations

  • Engineering and architecture
  • Deployment
  • Monitoring and operations
  • Administration

Data and cryptography

  • Data protection
  • PKI and certificate authorities
  • Cryptography and key management
  • Cloud security

We also put third-party risk governance in place: a C-SCRM and TPRM roadmap over eighteen to twenty-four months, prioritised against your business stakes, and a control panel consolidating risk by supplier, client, offering and technology.

04

SAP

A centre of expertise covering functional, technical and change management work. We support migrations to S/4HANA and train end users — which is where most SAP projects are actually won or lost.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Functional areas FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, HCM, BW
  • Technical areas ABAP, Fiori, Basis, integration
  • Migration governance towards S/4HANA
  • Interfaces and custom development
  • Continuous end user training

A structured centre of expertise

Our mission: to support our clients' digital transformation through operational excellence on SAP. Our values: collaboration, innovation, excellence, client commitment.

  1. 01

    Technology watch

Anticipating SAP developments and mastering the ecosystem's tools and APIs to serve concrete business use cases.

  2. 02

    Delivery quality

Guaranteeing project performance through agile methods and steering rituals that are actually held.

  3. 03

    Skills development

Supporting our consultants' growing expertise and continuous certification.

  4. 04

    Partnership and ecosystem

Co-innovating with SAP and our technology partners, and capitalising through internal competency centres and communities.

05

Digital workplace and user experience

Unify the tools, cut the cost of support, get them adopted. A digital workplace is not deployed: it is governed, with usage indicators and support for the business teams.

Ce que nous faisons

  • A common toolset and fewer silos
  • Lower device management and support costs
  • Faster workstation rollouts
  • Change management and staff training
  • Steering by usage and satisfaction indicators

Six axes of governance

A digital workplace cannot be decreed. We govern it along six axes, each with its own indicators and owners.

  1. 01

    Consistency of tools and uses

Avoiding tool sprawl, establishing a common base, reducing organisational silos.

  2. 02

    Data security and compliance

Protecting sensitive data, meeting GDPR requirements, defining access and archiving rules.

  3. 03

    A consistent user experience

Simplifying access to tools, unifying the interface and the journeys, encouraging adoption.

  4. 04

    Support through the change

Training staff, creating materials and local champions, easing the transition.

  5. 05

    Steering and continuous improvement

Putting indicators in place, tracking usage and satisfaction, adapting the tools as you go.

  6. 06

    Strategic alignment

Supporting business objectives and embedding the digital workplace in the company culture.

06

Infrastructure, networks and cloud

Where we started, now extended to the cloud. Decades of deployments on carrier networks taught us what holds up in production and what falls over at the first load peak.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Data centre architecture and operation
  • LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and VPN networks
  • Cloud migration, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
  • Docker and Kubernetes containerisation
  • Unified communications and collaboration tools
07

Managed services and run

Our run teams take over your tools and handle the first levels of monitoring and resolution, applying your procedures. A network operations centre keeps the service going round the clock, under a dedicated manager.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Keeping systems operational
  • Monitoring and handling alerts
  • Incident resolution following your procedures
  • Availability and performance reporting
  • Infrastructure analysis and root cause investigation

Three levels, one continuous service

The network operations centre runs continuously, including outside business hours. The tools stay yours or are put in place by our level 3; the procedures are written with you.

  1. 01

    Level 0 — monitoring

Taking alerts, validating and classifying incidents, handing over to the relevant teams.

  2. 02

    Level 1 — analysis

Initial analysis, checks, proactive tests following procedure, updates outside business hours.

  3. 03

    Level 2 — beyond procedure

In-depth analysis of incidents that fall outside the expected frame, then escalation to your teams.

  4. 04

    Steering

Availability monitoring, incident response and resolution, infrastructure analysis and performance reporting.

Our run teams work under ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification.

08

IT hardware distribution and financing

A business born in 1993 with Chorus Distribution, our IBM and Cisco reseller arm. Today we equip our clients with workstations and network infrastructure — and we finance the equipment rather than making them buy it.

Ce que nous faisons

  • Sourcing, qualification and price negotiation
  • E-procurement connected to your ordering tools
  • Rental financing, short and long term
  • Consolidated pricing at European scale
  • Configuration and customisation before shipping
  • On-site deployment and commissioning
  • Take-back, refurbishment and WEEE recycling

We also finance the equipment rather than making you buy it. See Ordatel Finance.

The five stages of IT equipment

A workstation costs well beyond its purchase price. Order fulfilment begins where the order stops: we take the hardware through to write-off, with one point of contact throughout.

  1. 1

    Prepare

Configuration, imaging, updates and protective fittings. The machine arrives ready to use, not in its factory box.

  2. 2

    Deliver

Multi-site delivery, by appointment, with order tracking. A date that is kept beats a short one that is announced.

  3. 3

    Deploy

On-site installation, commissioning, data migration from the old machine and support for the user.

  4. 4

    Maintain

Handling faults and breakages, hardware swaps, replacement units and figures on incidents.

  5. 5

    Take back

Audit and valuation of the outgoing equipment, certified data erasure, refurbishment or WEEE recycling.

Ordatel steers the chain and remains the single point of contact; logistics execution and workshop operations rely on our distribution partners. Refurbishment can be entrusted to the sheltered employment sector, in line with our partnership with APF France handicap.

E-procurement, without re-keying

An e-procurement setup in your group's colours, connected to your tools, from the internal request through to the order. Your buyers order from the environment they already use, on the catalogue and at the prices negotiated with you.

  • No re-keying

Connected to your purchasing platform — SAP Ariba, Coupa or your ERP — through PunchOut, Peppol or cXML. The order leaves from your tool and the status comes back to it.

  • No rogue catalogue

Only the products you have approved, at the negotiated prices, with the rights you set by entity and by buyer profile.

  • No account to manage

Your staff sign in with their corporate identity. No extra password, no leaver to deactivate by hand.

  • No blind spot

Real-time price and availability across several distributors, order status, dispatch notices and serial numbers fed back automatically.

For a multi-subsidiary group

Each entity orders in its own language, currency and local catalogue. Group procurement keeps a consolidated view and manages approvals from one place — which is what makes a European price list genuinely applicable, subsidiary by subsidiary.

09

BIM and building engineering

Twenty years of digital modelling and an in-house design office. We work from feasibility through to operation — and it is that last phase which decides the value of all the others.

Ce que nous faisons

  • BIM consulting, strategy and client-side advisory
  • BIM management in design, in construction and in operation
  • Modelling and digital models in Revit and Autocad
  • Design office: client-side and project management, as-built files
  • Scheduling, steering, coordination and site safety coordination
  • BIM training and certification

Putting building data to work also draws on our data and artificial intelligence practice.

Four teams, from sketch to operation

Operating a property portfolio costs five times what it cost to build, and an owner spends ten times longer doing it. BIM is not a model: it is the process that makes that phase manageable.

  1. 01

    Design office

Client-side and project management studies, as-built files, scheduling and coordination, site safety coordination.

  2. 02

    BIM and data management

BIM design, BIM scheduling, BIM GIS and BIM for operation and maintenance. Data platform and common data environment.

  3. 03

    BIM package

Workstations, licences and maintenance. The hardware that runs the model comes with it, rather than being left to the client.

  4. 04

    Training and research

Three levels, from the basics to certification. Work under way on BIM applied to healthcare, to big data and to the energy transition.

BIM is not an end in itself: it is a lever for performance in design, construction and operation. Beyond the model, it is a process that raises the quality of projects and optimises both their cost and their schedule.

Ordatel Finance

Finance your IT equipment rather than buy it.

A finance director does not think in catalogues but in cash flow and ratios. It is a discipline in its own right here, not an option at the bottom of a quote.

What sets us apart

The right euro at the right moment.

What we commit to is timing. An investment made too early sits idle; made too late, it is paid for twice — once in catching up, once in incidents.

What sets the schedule

The architecture in place, the real state of the equipment, the point in the lifecycle, the people available on both sides. We know these four things at our clients because we operate their systems — which is what lets us say when to invest, not only how much.

What makes it possible

An annual budget does not follow that schedule. The financing we arrange unlocks it: the refresh goes when the system demands it, not when the accounting year allows it.

Every euro invested then keeps its full value, and you are never playing catch-up.

Hardware becomes a rental

Ordatel Finance arranges the financing of your IT equipment, using Lenovo Funding Services and our specialist finance partners. The hardware becomes a rental: cash stays available, spend follows actual use, and the refresh is planned at signature rather than endured.

As you go

The financing follows your actual rollouts — day by day, week by week — instead of freezing a single batch at signature. On a deployment spread over several months and several sites, you pay only for what is genuinely in service.

What the financing covers

  • Hardware, whichever manufacturer you choose
  • Software and licences
  • Deployment and commissioning work

Terms

Short term One day to twelve months
Equipping an event, absorbing a peak, trying hardware before buying it, or covering a late delivery.
Medium and long term Twelve to sixty months
Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual rental, treated as operating expense or as a capitalised asset, whichever your finance department prefers.

What this changes for the finance department

  • No impact on your debt ratios
  • No deposit, no covenant, no counterparty required
  • No account you are obliged to open
  • Independence from manufacturers and brands
  • Exit terms negotiated at signature

Our framework agreement covers the whole of Europe. Where most resellers negotiate country by country, we consolidate a group's volumes into a single agreement — one price list for all its subsidiaries. End of life is built in: at the end of the contract the hardware is taken back, refurbished or sent for recycling, and its carbon footprint can be measured on what comes in and what goes out.

Software partnership

Osmove, our software and artificial intelligence partner.

Ordatel is a partner of Osmove, a development and artificial intelligence engineering studio. We distribute its products to our clients and work alongside it on projects where automation meets operations: voice agents, developer tooling, code quality control.
